What I Am Reading: 08/05/13

I love to read. I really do. Sometimes (OK, many times), what seem to be more pressing endeavors get in the way and it can take me a long time to finish a book. Reading great books adds quality and enjoyment to one’s life, much more so than vegging in front of the boob tube. Those who know me know I like to read non-fiction, history and current events stuff, but all that “real life” can wear on you so I like to change things up now and again. I came across Robert Bruce’s 101 BOOKS blog recently and he has re-kindled my desire to expand my horizons and read more fiction and literature.

Right now I am reading Joseph Heller’s masterpiece of satire, Catch-22. For whatever reason, I never read this book in school like most people did and now I am wondering why. I am only about 25% of the way through, but it is a seriously funny read!

I borrowed this copy from my local library, and I am enjoying it so much that I think I will buy my own. Stay tuned for more on this amazing work!
